AusGrape is now B Corp Certified

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our commitment to sustainability and purpose driven business practices – we are now B Corp Certified.

As part of Australian Vintage, AusGrape joins the B Corp community of businesses meeting high standards of social and environmental impact.

So, what is it? B Corp, short for ‘Benefit for all’ Corporation, is a for-profit business that has been independently assessed and verified to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

Australian Vintage joins domestic wine brands Unico Zelo and Minimum Wines and international brands Bollinger and Piper Heidsieck, as well as purpose-driven brands Who Gives A Crap, KeepCup, Patagonia, KMD Brands (Rip Curl, Kathmandu, Oboz) and more in this new model of global business. We will be one of the largest B Corps in the APAC region and is an example of a large-scale business committing to positive impact on people and the planet.

How do you receive certification?

To achieve certification, a company must:

  1. Demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing B Lab’s independent risk review. The organisation’s entire value chain is assessed across five key impact areas- community, workers, environment, customers and governance.
  2. Make a legal commitment by changing their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders, and achieve benefit corporation status if available in their jurisdiction.
  3. Exhibit transparency by allowing information about their performance measured against B Lab’s standards to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab’s website.

What does being B Corp mean for us?

Becoming B Corp Certified isn’t the end of the road – it’s just the beginning. We’ll continue to look for new ways to improve our impact and keep making progress across our entire value chain to ensure we’re a business that benefits all. Our ESG strategy is built on thriving people, nurturing nature and prosperity with purpose.
